It is times like this that I question why I tolerate the politics of boxing. The simple answer is, I love the game. I love boxing. I match up great, great fights, and even better as a result of the outcome of great fights down the road love to watch the match ups. I Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Tyson, and Holyfield grew up in days. So, I between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was anticipating the upcoming showdown in the boxing world, all anyone was talking about. Because of the war on drugs to fight camps for disagreement between the first test could not be created. Ah, politics and business side of boxing. We as boxing fans have a front row seat to the human carnival.

After the fight was not to get made, I was a little deflated. In order for the new year to satisfy your thirst for great match up, I January 30 Shane Mosley and the match between Andre Berto was anticipating. Unfortunately, Berto, a Haitian American, Haitian out because of earthquake damage in the family was pulled. Haitian earthquake is a terrible tragedy, and it totally makes sense that Berto had pulled out of battle. If this fight never happens, it would be appropriate due to circumstances completely out of hand.

What is not fair that Pacquiao and Mayweather could not come to an agreement on drug testing. There is still much to fight for this money to be made is not. Not to mention a great potential to fight that all boxing fans want to see. Boxing writers, journalists, pundits, and fans were all collectively in agreement that the fight to not have too much money on the line. However, besides fighting concessions were made on both sides, they can not work out after it collapsed. Some just do not pass the smell test.

It's all just stand? Mayweather is afraid of Pacquiao? Floyd is also your "0" to jeopardize much of a risk Pacquaio? The constant jabs at Mayweather Freddie Roach and his camp is part of a larger strategy?

It really is hard to say. Perhaps, they order in 2010 after fighting for a showdown are turned to accelerate. I can not imagine fighting are not. It turned to be. Stand between the respective camps and promoters is common place. Boxing is not like any other game. A big battle for a loss can set you back months and / or years as far as earning power is concerned. Attitude is like money in boxing circles.

Pacquiao-Mayweather breaking and Berto-Mosley to cancel the result, we may have on the horizon is a potential Mayweather-Mosley fight. Mayweather reportedly told his advisors have to fight to make. Until the contract is signed, a date set, and get under the promotion, I hope I will not.

We March 13 at Arlington, Texas Cowboys Stadium in the Pacquiao-Clottey. Incidentally, about Fort Worth, Texas fifteen minute drive from my house. Good.

Interesting match, and I size and ability to be a problem for Clottey Pac-Man look. It should be a very competitive fight. However, to match or even just a Mayweather-PAC Action of a Mayweather-Mosley fight is not shining. Cowboy Stadium might compensate for some of the shortcomings of promotion can.

Promoters are excellent markets, which is why they are promoters. It makes you wonder if there's something going on between Arum and Golden Boy was not collusion. Let's look at logic. Both fighters, Pacquiao and Mayweather, at the start of the second year battle with opponents can. Then, fight the construction of the fall or winter of 2010 and more. Contrasting approach to the argument that the two opponents, Clottey and Mosley, far more opponents are simply tune. They both validate the pound fighters that Pacquiao and Floyd have come to be known as the universal rule are threats to dethrone pounds.

On the other hand, it makes you think they fight Mayweather if it is and / or the making or Mosley or Clottey Pacquiao had to lose. I think how they lost "seems to respond. Of them is knocked out or loses a decision in solid fashion, this super-fight to take place could mean trouble. If all as 'master' plan is planned, and their respective promoters, the fighters in the battle for the money, squeeze, pound great for the first great battle between two pounds to make. We'll see how it plays out.

They come to some solid fights for us boxing fans. I can not lie. I'm looking forward to them. He's just not the emptiness that was left after our appetites Boxing Pacquiao-Mayweather, the most anticipated fight of the year, rushing fell apart.

So what we have in the near future? February 6 WBC lightweight title for a good little fight between Edwin Valero vs Antonio DeMarco. I have never seen Valero fight, I just saw the highlights. I know he has great power, but he has had very little risk. I've heard great things about his big punch. Action will be televised on Showtime. On the same card that night, we also have Louis Abregu vs. Richard Gutierrez. This is a nice little card, but by no means does this by generating interest on a grand scale.

Arthur Abraham there in Rancho Mirage on March 6 vs. Andre Dirrell, CA is. The fighting platform is a major cause of the Super Six tournament. Action is good, but Dirrell will be how to handle awkward style and like turtle shell defense brings Abraham? Not to mention Abraham's strength and experience. Should be interesting, and I'm picking Abraham. I also believe that it will be competing'm not.

Only for purists like to see the fight card. There is nothing wrong with that, the fighters, but our sport of boxing pound for pounders are the future needs a shot in the hand and the fights do not just capture new fans. Wladimir Klitschko ESPN crawl before I read that two days in Germany for a 20 March date signed on to fight Eddie Chambers. Chambers is a formidable heavyweight. Decent fight, but it does not blow my hair back.

Appallingly, promoters Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for April 17 - Jones Hopkins rematch is set. Roy Jones just in his last fight was knocked out in round one. Prior to that, he was fighting less than stellar competition (Calzaghe though, although he was completely smitten by him.) Not to mention he is 41 and Hopkins just turned 45. Oh. Sure, there's a story line here, is his first fight in 1993. But let? What seats and butts to drive revenue, pay per view events? I think boxing fans for this fight if we come out of pocket for this one is called for is an insult. If the v or Friday night fights, was on the right. We all know it will be on pay per view.

Evander Holyfield-Francois Botha fight Then that just has been canceled due to money issues. God, that I was on the edge of your seat. When I first found out it was canceled, I have been in the fetal position for quite a while, switch lamp flickering on and off, on and off. I was heartbroken. Oh, and I just heard David Haye just signed to fight John Ruiz. Ruiz is still fighting? I also did not know. What's going on here?
